Job Description

We have an immediate opening for a Developer Tools and Automation Engineer. You will improve developers' productivity by creating and fining-tuning open-source tools, automating workflows, processes and repetitive tasks and by helping them troubleshoot our codebase and their desktop setups. As we grow our cloud presence, you'll also help us automate and scale our infrastructure to new levels. But you are not alone: we will teach you the tools that automate infrastructure deployment, manage application configuration, and monitor services.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • You are enthusiastic about learning new skills as quickly as possible

  • Commited to delivering solutions on time
  • Able to multtask and quickly adapt to new requirements
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills
  • Knowledge of Linux OS (Ubuntu or Redhat/CentOS)
  • Knowledge of Mac OS X
  • Familiar with Vagrant and/or other local virtualization engines
  • Familiar with Continuos Integration tools (e.g. Jenkins, Houston)
  • Knowledge in a provisioning or automation framework (i.e., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Saltstack, etc.)
  • Scripting capabilities (e.g. Python, Bash, or Ruby)
  • PHP programming skills

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience configuring developer workstations with automation tools such as Boxen, Pivotal Sprout, Kitchenplan
  • Experience in one or more programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Node.js, Java
  • Familiar with deploying services such as RabbitMQ, Solr, MongoDB, Redis, or MySQL
  • Knowledge of Web Frameworks
  • Knowledge of Networking and Monitoring Services
  • Experience operating in a 24x7 service
  • Hands on experience with AWS Services
  • Computer Science or equivalent engineering degree
