Job Description

Refinery29 is looking for a well-trained, next-generation editor to help our Brand Experiences team take our dedicated content to the next level.  Our ideal candidate is able to excel in a fun and fast moving environment without losing her/his meticulous attention to detail and staying on top of deadlines.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Review and top edit all content for the Refinery29 Brand Experiences team, including dedicated articles, emails, social media, and co-branded collateral
  • Ensure that all sponsored copy is well-written, on-brand, grammatically correct, and logically structured, while also in line with the objectives of our advertising partners
  • Help evolve and uphold best practices and standards for branded content copy at R29 across fashion, beauty, wellness, living, and entertainment; must be able to flag and communicate any recurring issues and work to address them with senior members of the Brand Experiences team
  • Fact-check locations, dates, and look out for potential brand issues
  • Ensure that all copy is in line with R29 standards and Style Guide
  • Work closely with BE staff writers and editors to package headlines and optimize for SEO

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years in an editing role within digital media
  • Must be an excellent writer, with especially great headline writing skills
  • A flawless command of spelling, punctuation, and grammar
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment against tight deadlines, without sacrificing accuracy or attention to detail
  • A genuine interest in digital advertising, and specifically branded content
  • Never-ending patience, and a positive attitude
  • Social media copywriting experience a plus
