Job Description

We're looking for someone who is passionate about science-based wellness content, and who has a strong record of taking unique, innovative editorial stances. Our health and wellness content is fresh, engaging, and — most importantly — focused on providing with envelope-pushing, next-generation information. We're building something totally unique. The ideal candidate will be equally at ease covering offbeat trends in wellness and an exciting new study on women's sexual habits. Our health and wellness content is not weight loss-driven; it’s inclusive, sex-positive, and science-driven.

Qualifications


 A minimum of 4 years experience writing and editing for highly trafficked website.

College degree minimum required 

Familiarity with peer-reviewed wellness, science, and health publications, ability to synthesize study findings and present in an approachable, comprehensible way.

Strong network of go-to contacts across the health and wellness space.

Experience working with freelance and staff writers on all steps of the editorial process: conceptualizing article ideas, assigning out, giving editorial notes, and bringing copy to final, publishable state.

Experience working with social media and SEO strategies.

Experience with photo shoot production — especially wellness shoots — preferred: conceptualizing story idea, identifying top wellness talent, overseeing shoot to ensure accuracy of copy.

Proven ability to produce original reporting with unique POV that attracts significant media attention.

Must be quick on his/her feet with a real talent for generating and finding fresh, engaging content not just daily, but hourly, and finding the appropriate way to package the story in an R29-way.

Must be highly organized and a very clean line editor who can help elevate copy.

Must be team-oriented, responsive, and comfortable collaborating, but also able to work independently.
