Job Description

This position provides subject matter and technical support to sales representatives in the office and in the field.

 

The Role

The Pre-Sales Engineer (PRESE) will focus on providing technical pre-sales engineering support to the Regent sales team.  The PRESE will support both the Student Needs Analysis Profile (SNAP) and Regent Enterprise product lines. The PRESE will play an integral role in the success of the Sales team. Specifically s/he will be responsible for:

  • Works closely with the sales executives to present the Regent solutions to prospective clients and partners.
  • Develop content for and conduct product demonstrations and webinars.
  • Provide product descriptions and content for proposals in response to RFPs & RFIs.
  • Attend, present, and conduct demonstrations at trade shows and events.
  • Gather ongoing prospect/customer feedback and related information.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to keep them abreast of industry trends and customer requirements.
  • Leverage industry knowledge and experience to define and guide the customer requirements and configuration of Regent’s solutions.
  • Elicit and document customer requirements.
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements in the financial aid industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, developers and other subject matter experts.
  • Collaborate with customer IT, business team members, senior executives and subject matter experts to develop and quantify significant ROI’s for Regent solutions.

Qualifications

Professional Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the higher education technology      landscape.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial aid/student loan industry.
  • Ability to work in a team      environment.
  • Excellent      written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to craft a solution      with appropriate products and services that meets business goals based on      client discussions.
  • Capable of crafting a      compelling ROI based on tangible client needs.
  • Strong      work ethic and a team player attitude with a deep commitment to customer      satisfaction.
  • Results-oriented with a      record of success in meeting deadlines.

  In addition:

  • Familiarity with Regent’s      solutions a plus.
  • Ideally the PRESE will be      based out of Regent’s corporate headquarters in Frederick, MD but a remote      office setting will be considered for the right candidate.
  • 5+ years’ pre-sales experience      desired, but not required, in the education and/or a solution-selling      technology industry.

Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
