However, many customers like the flexibility of Rent-To-Own. This “No Obligation To Buy” agreement gives customers the flexibility of trying a set of wheels and tires before they buy. These customers can return the set for any reason or if they love them, customers can buy them within 90 days for the same retail price as if they bought them the first day. Otherwise, they can continue with the low payments and pay off the wheels at any time over the first year at 50% off the remaining agreement value. Either way, we do our best to find a program that works best for our customer, every time.

Job Description

This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, benefits, HR administration, etc. This position carries out practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. 

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interfaces daily with HR team and store management to provide proactive human resources advice and support to increase employee engagement and mitigate company liability.
  • Trains and coaches managers and supervisors as appropriate regarding Human Resources policies and practices.
  • Investigates and coordinates disciplinary actions, claims of discrimination or harassment, employee complaints, conflict resolution and other employee relations issues.
  • Serves as an information source for employee and supervisor questions as they relate to policies and procedures and any applicable laws and the appropriate course of action to take in each situation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of employee relations issues and incidents.
  • Provides guidance and training to supervisors pertaining to disciplinary procedures, performance evaluation, etc. Ensures performance management recommendations are in compliance with applicable company policies and practices as well as Federal/State laws.
  • Acts as liaison with federal and state employment and service agencies. May attend unemployment hearings as necessary.
  • Handles all Unemployment and EEOC Claims; writes position statements for EEOC claims as needed/required.
  • Files EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Assists in updating and creating human resources policies and procedures, as needed.
  • Prepares and maintains Employee Handbook annually.
  • Assists in handling leaves of absence for full and part-time staff (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, etc.); process necessary paperwork, advise employees regarding eligibility for leaves
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards. Meets employees’ and managers’ needs with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Assists in managing the Safety Program accordance with OSHA regulations. Updates the Safety Manual, as needed. Provides all stores with the OSHA 300 logs annually.
  • Assists to ensure accurate completion, compliance and maintenance of confidential employment records.
  • May assist with recruiting, interviewing and selection of store/field applicants; provide related training to hiring managers; assists in writing and placing advertisements as needed.
  • Maintains appropriate level of confidentiality and follows organizational practices for escalating concerns to the Director of HR, Training and Compliance.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Orders and provides Labor Law Posters to all locations annually.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Director and/or Human Resources Manager.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

 

Qualifications/Attributes:

  • Working knowledge of various labor laws/regulations including: FMLA, PDL, Title VII,, ADA, OSHA, wage and hour,  etc.
  • Experience with recruiting, corrective action, handling terminations, resignations, exit interviews.
  • Skilled at learning, interpreting, and applying company policies and state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to research and interpret court decisions affecting human resources and employee management.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of multi-state personnel administration

 

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Operating standard office equipment.

 

Previous Work Experience:

  • Three or more years of related human resources or employee relations experience required.

 

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, and Windows.
  • Typing level of 45 wpm.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S or B.A) or equivalent from four-year college. Combination of human resources experience and education will be considered.

  • None

 

Physical Requirements:

  • The physical demands include close vision for computer work, standing, sitting and repetitive use of hands and fingers, occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel and/or weekend work may be required.
