Position Title IT Specialist - Entry Level - Automotive Manufacturing - TN #2705

 

Relocation No must be currently living within a 1 hour radius

 

Location Morristown TN

 

The IT Specialist performs installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of computer hardware and software in a multiple-server, networked environment. Experience with ERP & EDI is highly desired. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Installation, configuration and maintenance of computer hardware and software in a multiple-server, networked environment including security and disaster recovery planning.

 Diagnosis and solutions to computer problems, workstations, fileservers, communication servers, hubs, routers, switches, firewalls and other connectivity-related equipment.

 WAN/LAN administration, both directly and remotely including related equipment.

 Telephone, voice-mail, and e-mail (Exchange 2003) systems administration, hardware and software included.

 Installation and maintenance of servers (Windows 2000 and Windows 2003) and workstation configurations (Windows 2000 and Windows XP).

 Technical interface with outside vendors, as needed.

 Hardware and software purchase, licensing and inventory.

 Maximize utilization of technology, software, and resources.

 Installation, configuration and maintenance of several industry specific software programs including ERP (Godlan AutoCentre), EDI (Radley iCaras), and Microsoft Office 2003 products.

 Creation and maintenance of reports utilizing Crystal Report Writer.

 Configuration and maintenance of bar code equipment and software, including scanners, rf terminals and thermal transfer printers.

 Responsible for communication equipment: fax, video-conference, etc.

 Responsible for the administration and proper functioning of antivirus and anti-spam solutions.

 May be responsible for development of in-house programming projects.

 Responsible for overseeing or performing network-related wiring throughout facility.

 Responsible for creation and adherence to departmental procedures and company policies. Creation of other documentation as needed including end user documentation.

 Responsible for training Associates in various topics related to software, computers, etc. Other topics as needed.

 Responsible for guest/visitor accommodations including notebook/computer support, antivirus, printer, etc.

 Responsible for other resource allocation.

 Responsible for other Internet technology aspects (company website, Intranet, etc.).

 Support all other departments as directed.

 Create and present presentations on various topics.

 Flexibility to work in multi-language environment (software included).

 Proven ability to work independently, when needed; and manage multiple projects.

 Assist in providing computer/network support relating to software and hardware problems reported by users.

 Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

 Must perform preventative maintenance and routine machine checks.

 Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment; responsible for proper waste disposal.

 Must be able to successfully function within a team environment and be able to adapt to change.

 Communicate effectively with others using both oral and written communication skills.

 Other duties as required.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in a related field required. 

 

EXPERIENCE

At least 0-2 years related experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
