Job Description

Growing independent community hospital in North Central Michigan looking for an Emergency Medicine Physician.


 The medical offices are located in professional medical building attached to the hospital. All practices utilize an Electronic Health Record that is shared within the medical group and hospital with remote access.


 Each provider has an assigned clinical staff member to assist them. A full training team supports coding documentation and software issues


 Designated Patient Centered Medical Home


 Includes four federally qualified Rural Health Clinics where physicians enjoy practicing broad based medicine treating a wide variety of illnesses and conditions and utilizing all their skills.


 Proactive Administration team provides support and attention to physician needs.


Emergency Medicine Department:


* Part-time position working six 12 hour shifts a month with plans to transition to full time.


* Busy 24 hour physician staff Emergency Department seeing 14,000 visits a year.


* Joining five physicians and two physician assistants.


* Ten patient rooms with separate triage area.


* Facility is currently seeking a Trauma Level Designation Four.


* Helipad and local ambulance services for transporting patients. 


* Meditech electronic medical record shared with hospital and medical group.


* Hospital employed position with generous benefits including consistent hourly rate for all physicians in the department, paid malpractice insurance, full family health, as well as a continuing education, dues, and license allowance. 


What we're looking for in an ER Physician:


 Seeking quality candidates with a congenial personality and a team player attitude to help deliver quality patient-focused care and meet the needs of the practices.


 Board certified or eligible if has plans to complete board certification within two years of completion of training or hire.


 Stable work/training history without prior history of license or disciplinary action.


 Strong computer skills with prior electronic medical record use preferred.


 Excellent English communication skills required due to minimal ethnic diversity in the area.


 Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, hospital personnel and community members.


 Eligible for Michigan State Loan Repayment program and NHSC funds.


 Potential longevity and community fit a high priority for consideration.


Bottom Line Requirements:


1. Board certified or eligible.


2. Stable work/training history without prior history of license or disciplinary action.


3. Emergency Medicine background.
