Jr. UX/UI Designer (temp-to-perm)

  • Full-time

Company Description

Our magic happens in Princeton, positioning us between Philly and NYC. We know when you hear Princeton you immediately think healthcare or pharma, but that’s not us. We service clients across a variety of industries, and you’ll have the chance to do some really cool work here.

We focus on a healthy work-life balance, so you won’t be here all night. There are no crammed spaces or fluorescent tubes, only open space and plenty of natural light.

You can do great creative work without having to be in a big city. At Ripen, you’re empowered to do what you do best and have a great f@$#&!g time doing it.

WE’RE GROWING

Great work doesn’t magically appear. It’s the product of people coming together from all walks of life with different skillsets, backgrounds and personalities. It’s from people who create and collaborate while letting their personality shine. Great work doesn’t walk through the door Monday morning ready for the next challenge. Our people do.

That’s why we’re always looking for people who are serious about their work and silly about everything else. We love hiring nutballs and interesting guys and gals that bring drive and digital experience.

Job Description

The UX/UI team is currently looking for a  junior UX/UI designer to help produce engaging experiences, enjoys usability research, and solve UI challenges through sketches and wireframes. If you've got an awesome portfolio and insist on always raising the bar on what a good site should look and feel like, then you’re our ideal candidate.

The Jr. UX/UI designer will work very closely with the Sr. UI Designer to develop mocks using Sketch, Illustrator and Photoshop, and translate them to clickable prototypes using InVision.

We're in the middle of a site overhaul and re-design (following a new brand identity we haven't made public yet) but there's still time for you to come in and contribute to the visual design of the new site.

All this while listening to good music throughout the office, enjoying healthy snacks put out every day, and engaging in healthy debate with the Sr. UI Designer and Creative Director about how best to simplify a process, then engage in a different debate about the next two seasons of Game of Thrones.

You’ll work along with a talented team of strategists, designers, developers, and project managers. This role reports to and works closely with the Creative Director who enjoys the frequent whiteboard session with UX/UI designers. This is your chance to join a talented, growing team where your efforts will not go unnoticed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of design experience for both web and mobile
  • Experience with UX and protyping tools (Must know Sketch, InVision, Illustrator and Photoshop)
  • Experience with UX design patterns and creating user-centered designs
  • Able to design responsive sites and mobile
  • Must have a solid portfolio showcasing clean layouts and typography skills
  • Enjoys conducting usability research to observe issues and then offer solutions
  • Exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
  • Up-to-date with the latest UX/UI trends, techniques, and technologies
