Job Description

Highly creative writer with an understanding of marketing and brand building to write all brand copy including, but not limited to the following channels: event, direct mail, advertising, display advertising, catalog, product name & claim, web, mobile, email, social media, and product feature copy. Ability to discern the most important attributes of a product and relay merchandise and marketing messages to our customers. Write original, inventive copy that builds the brand through tone, style, story and content. Partner with merchandising, marketing, and creative team.

Write all brand copy
Research and write product positioning
Research with merchandising, creative and marketing teams
Works with cross-functional merchandising, marketing, creative, publishing and web teams to ensure copy is on-trend, on-brand, compelling and concise
Present creative concepts internally and to clients as needed
Proofread copy for clarity, accuracy of detail and consistency of style
Maintain copy library and communicate across functions to ensure consistency and alignment
Long-form and technical copy for both B2B and B2C
Meet strategic, marketing and behavioral objectives while enforcing brand guidelines


Qualifications

Highly creative thinker with a marketing mindset
Ability to present creative ideas
Knowledge of current trends
Knowledge of social media
Understanding of the retail business and the concept of brand marketing
Ability to work under deadline pressure as part of a creative team
Self motivated, independent team player who strives for excellence
Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail
Thick skin, with the ability to defend their work and turn feedback into solutions

Additional Information

5 years copy experience
Demonstrated understanding of e-commerce
Tactical experience on what moves the needle with email– subject line, headline and CTA
Understanding of how copy relates/impacts the user experience
Apparel, restaurant and/or consumer product experience desired
Should be able to walk through the entire creative process from understanding the communication problem to final product
Previous writing from a UX perspective
Adobe inCopy a plus
