Job Description

Assist the Physician by coordinating the patient flow  in the clinic from beginning of treatment until discharge from care.  The purpose is to assist in continuity of care during the patient's treatment plan.  Reports to the Clinic Manager.  Job duties include assisting the physician in procedures by prepping the patient and preparing all necessary equipment and materials.  Maintain complete patient medical information in the medical record while confirming that all necessary data is in place before the patient/physician encounter.  Maintain exam room supplies and sample medication inventory.   Prepare for clinic days by reviewing all patient charts in advance in order to confirm all information such as test results, x-rays, MRI's and CT's are present for the patient's visit.  Greet patients and families with a smile.  Maintains strictest confidentiality.  Must attend mandatory department and staff meetings.

Qualifications

High School diploma.  Medical Assistant Certificate from accredited school. Passing of Certification exam. Minimum 1 year experience.  Experience with orthopedics a plus.  Knowledge of computers and electronic medical records is needed.  Ability to respond with a flexible schedule to adapt to changing work load is required.  Strong communication skills needed.  Ability to perform effectively as a team member a must.
