Job Description

  • Perform equipment and instrument calibrations according to establish procedures.
  • Stage samples and work packages for release into the laboratory for testing
  • Perform basic testing
  • Prepare media, sample, and or reagents as needed.
  • Prepare and standardize Test solutions, Standard solutions and Volumetric solutions.
  • Maintain cell cultures.
  • Maintain clean and stocked workstations ensuring spills are immediately cleaned; hazardous waste disposal according to laboratory procedures, glassware is appropriately handled and lab solutions are replaced.
  • Ensure that work order documentation is complete in every aspect and all results are entered into the electronic Laboratory Information System or the Client’s Certificate of Analysis before submission to the QA reviewer.
  • Lead laboratory and supply maintenance activities, ensuring all scheduled activities are completed and signed off by the manager or designate.
  • Ensure full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science – Biotechnology/Chemistry
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of demonstrated ability to work within a laboratory setting.
  • Micropipette usage (single/multi/repeater)
  • Visual Acuity to conduct visual inspection for colour, clarity, opalescence, and particulates.
  • Demonstrated basic understanding of protein biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, and/or biophysics
  • Technical competency in two or more of the following;
  • Mammalian Cell Culture and Aseptic technique
  • pH, Appearance, Osmolality, Spectrophotometry, Conductivity and others.
  • Able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
  • Proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel. PowerPoint & Outlook).
