Job Description

The Communications Specialist serves as a member of the SGS Environment, Health & Safety sales support team, reporting to the Senior Vice President, SGS North America. The Communications Specialist will execute communication strategies and assist in developing collateral aligned with SGS Environment, Health & Safety’s strategic goals. 

Responsibilities:

  • Creates, streamlines, and drives all content for SGS Environment, Health & Safety, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Develops clear, concise internal and external communication plans - both written and multimedia.
  • Creates and manages email campaigns for external clients.
  • Designs compelling and sophisticated content collateral for sales proposals.
  • Manages assigned tasks and small projects, collaborating effectively with internal clients to devise strategy and execute print, web, and multimedia communications collateral.
  • Responsible for brand management and execution of corporate campaigns.
  • Manages a budget across all marketing segments for EHS NAM.  Collaborates with team members to ensure project strategy and tactics are achieved on time and on budget.
  • Leads a team including Sales/Marketing Coordinators/Specialists.
  • Collects and analyzes defined metrics to evaluate success of new communications deliverables.
  • Manages social media, public relations and content marketing.
  • At all times complies with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Design, Journalism or related fields
  • 5+ years’ experience in an internal or communications role in a corporate setting
  • Experience creating unique and engaging content for digital and print marketing, content marketing, video and social media marketing
  • Experience managing multiple projects from concept to completion, on time and on budget
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications and presentation skills, including strong editing skills (content, grammar, spelling)
  • Proven ability to apply a creative approach to produce clear, compelling, motivating communications that achieve desired outcomes
  • Excellent judgment in determining the appropriateness and content of messages
  • Working knowledge of intranet platforms and social media as communications vehicles and content management tools
  • Strong project management skills and ability to deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiar with current trends in online marketing, graphic design, website design, video marketing
  • Experience with content management systems, email marketing software (such as Eloqua), Survey Monkey, PowerBI, SharePoint (Office 365), BrandWatch (and Social Media Listening tools)
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign/Photoshop/Creative Cloud
