Job Description

  • Perform audits as an auditor or lead auditor, in conformance with the SGS Global/Local procedures.
  • Lead Auditors have authority for the control and performance of auditing activities including planning and the control of other members of audit teams.
  • This position is responsible to collect and analyze sufficient information to provide a recommendation for certification.
  • Promotion & development of Food Safety Program Optimization (FSPO)

  • Participate in key technical meetings (internal /external), e.g. BRC/SQF/FSSC committee

  • Technical support for all food schemes

  • Decide upon evidence gained during audits whether or not manufacturers are in compliance with all relevant standards / regulations, and if registration should be recommended or allowed to continue. 
  • Provide technical advice to marketing and sales functions, as required. Utilize and maintain professional communication and presentation skills while meeting with clients. 
  • Conduct public presentations / seminars on specific standards, where required. 
  • Respond to client inquiries on all technical matters regarding SGS-SSC certification / training products. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in relevant discipline or applicable experience
  • All applicable standards qualifications
  • Over 10 years work experience (including at least 5 years management experience)
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in Food Standards
  • Analytical, decisive, adaptable, ethical, problem solver, persuasive, commercially-sensitive
  • Customer and commercial focus
  • Verbal & written communication skills – highly developed presentation skills and ability to interact effectively with senior government officials, and senior management of organizations.
  • Extended hours may be required from time to time.
  • Travel to other SGS locations or client location may be required from time to time.
  • Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.
