Job Description



Responsible for the engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of the global telephony Infrastructure.  Provides technical support to various departments and users with regards to the network, telecom and collaboration systems infrastructure.  Serves as a liaison with vendors and other third-party providers.  Collaborates with team members locally or virtually in remote states or countries.


Qualification Requirements:


Education:    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience can be substituted for degree



4+ years Telephony/VOIP experience



·         Highly Skilled and extensive understanding of Cisco Unified Communication Systems is a must.

·         Experience in a multi-office environment supporting multiple Call Manager Clusters.

·         Solid knowledge and experience of installing and supporting video conferencing platforms.

·         Understanding of the OSI model.

·         Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)

·         Ability to support users and telephony equipment in person and with remote administration tools.

·         Available off-hours periodically to support high impact projects and support international offices.

·         Proven strong technical troubleshooting abilities.

·         Must have the ability to multitask and work well independently.

·         Ability to diagram and inventory the global telephony, collaboration systems and associated resources.

·         Knowledge of QoS and latency implications in a VoIP environment.

·         Ability and desire to learn new skills quickly.

·         Effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization.

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.

·         Mobile Device Management and associated MDM platforms

·         Network Engineering background in a Cisco environment.

·         Experience with MPLS, DMVPN, and WAN architectures.

·         Solid knowledge of routing protocols BGP, EIGRP, and HSRP.



Not required however considered a plus:

Knowledge of Microsoft Lync and other collaboration technologies.

Knowledge of Contact Center Express

Knowledge of Oracle Call Centre on Demand



Licenses, Certifications:

CCNA Voice

CCNP Voice  (Not Mandatory but highly desirable)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:


·            Performs moderate to complex engineering, implementation and maintenance tasks on our Cisco VOIP Systems under minimal supervision.

·            Responsible for the engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance and upgrade of the global voice and collaboration technology Infrastructure.

·            Performs moderate to complex engineering, implementation and maintenance tasks on our Cisco VOIP Systems under minimal supervision.

·            Responsible for the on-going assessment and upgrade of global Telephony Infrastructure.

·            Collects and analyzes data, statistics such as information from Solarwinds, Netflow and Syslog.

·            Researches, evaluates and recommends Communication hardware, software and services.

·            Provides support for the Mobile Device Management process and platform

·            Troubleshoots network problems, collaborates, and assists Network Engineering team as needed.

·            Serves as a liaison with vendors and other third party providers.

·            Develops relationships with vendors and investigates sources of equipment and services.

·            Reviews contracts and maintains close contact with existing vendors of equipment and services.

·            Coordinates with vendors on the installation of hardware such as routers, bridges and switches.

·            May evaluate vendor cost and quality of equipment and services

·            Remains informed of new developments and trends; makes recommendations to management on desirable additions and developments.

·            Work with team to perform functions in support of network security and IT acceptable use policies; ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.

·            Special projects and duties as assigned.
