Job Description

The Finance Director will play a critical role supporting the organization as the primary resource responsible for accurate analysis, budgeting, planning, forecasting and reporting for departments and functions spanning the corporate landscape. The ideal candidate will also have a successful track record in a senior financial role with a B2B technology company in an OnDemand/Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery model environment.

This is a highly visible and complex role, since the candidate will be required to support and work with executives and users across the entire organization. The successful candidate must be extremely well organized, detail-oriented, quality-minded and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • Develop formal budgets, forecasts and analysis processes
  • Administer, review, and clearly communicate all financial plans and budgets
  • Monitor progress and changes, and keep senior leadership informed of financial status
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting
  • Develop, implement and ensure compliance with financial and accounting policies
  • Prepare all supporting information for annual audit
  • Liaise with Board of Directors Audit Committee and external auditors as necessary
  • Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for financial transactions, audits and tax filing
  • Reconcile bank and investment accounts
  • Oversee bookkeeping function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
  • Manage acquisition of capital assets and ensure assets are properly recorded, amortized and disposed of as appropriate
  • Update and implement all necessary business/finance policies and accounting practices
  • Drive continuous process improvement in reporting, forecasting and budgeting activities through automation, consolidation and quality improvement
  • Commission calculation and forecast (experience with Xactly tool is a plus)
  • Headcount/compensation forecasting and analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of Board of Directors and Investor presentations
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis to support strategic initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal government reporting requirements
  • Provide financial analyses to the company and business units as needed

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including SOX compliance
  • Proven track record in senior financial role with a rapid-growth SaaS company
  • Direct experience managing short- and long-term financial planning process
  • Excellent financial modeling, booking and revenue recognition skills in a SaaS environment
  • Excellent working knowledge of accounting, monthly close process and account reconciliation
  • Ability to develop clear action plans and drive processes
  • Results-oriented with ability to organize, evaluate, prioritize and manage multiple objectives
  • Ability to understand the impact of operational initiatives
  • Process oriented, but flexible around business needs
  • Experience working with banks and third–party lending institutions required
  • Must be proficient at analyzing data
  • Familiar with multi-entity operations and related accounting
  • Advanced financial modeling skills preferred
  • Experience with both private and public companies preferred

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years industry financial experience 
  • Minimum 8 years managerial or supervisory experience
  • Proven business analysis experience (including functional collaboration, data review/analysis, and presentation experience and skills)
  • Financial planning system power user experience is required (Excel, PowerPoint, Adaptive Planning and NetSuite software)
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA and MBA is preferred
