Showpad is looking for an outstanding System Administrator to join our team. You will: 

• Ensure the stable operation of Showpad's infrastructure and act proactively to bring better solutions 
• Be responsible for requirements and capacity analysis, service configuration, and monitoring
• Oversee the smooth operation of all databases, including replication, backup and performance tuning
• Own and improve the Disaster Recovery plan
• Be the liaison between various hosting and technology providers and the Showpad team 
• Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from, engineers and other stakeholders 

• Degree in a Computer Science oriented field of study, or equivalent through experience 
• Experience in high user/traffic volume, easily scalable and/or critical production service environment
• Excellent scripting skills
• Solid understanding of the full web technology stack, internet security and networking 
• Experience writing and configuring trending and monitoring tools
• Be able to work accurately under pressure 
• Good communication skills 
• Ability to write proper technical documentation 

Desired:

• Understand how the entire OS works from kernel to the application layer 
• Experience with managing infrastructure in an IaaS environment
• Experience with any of Nginx, MySql, Redis, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Gearman, PHP, Node.js, Docker, Puppet, Chef.
