Job Description

The Test Engineer will be responsible for component and system testing throughout the product life cycle from development through release for products in the consumer health and medical device markets. The Test Engineer will work closely with project and cross-functional teams to help develop and execute test plans.  The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail oriented, and quick learner who can work in a fast-paced environment and values quality and accountability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform a variety of electrical, mechanical and environmental tests on electromechanical systems and/or subcomponents efficiently, effectively, and in an independent manner in accordance with written test procedures and appropriate specification requirements 
  • Develop custom test set-ups/fixtures to safely perform and validate all test requirements when needed, as required by the test procedure or specification requirements 
  • Gather and document all pertinent data in an objective manner while performing tests and provide analysis of the data with minimal oversight and assistance
  • Develop and/or update test procedures 
  • Setting up data acquisition hardware/software for various sensor technologies
  • Compile test data and preparing test reports for presenting the data 
  • Objectively summarize the results, and providing recommendations based on the analyzed data

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in an Engineering related field
  • Electro-mechanical degree preferred; electrical highly desired
  • 1-3 years of experience working with systems and with a wide variety of testing tools
  • Mechanical design experience with mechanical drawings, basic pneumatic, hydraulics, and thermal knowledge
  • Electrical design experience with wiring schematics, electronics debugging, basic knowledge of electrical components and PCBA’s, basic control systems
  • Building mechanical mechanisms, pneumatic actuators and controls, basic electrical wiring, and deploying simple logic controls (relays, timers, counters)
  • Experience and knowledge of typical lab test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, meters, current and voltage sources, pressure sensors, temperature sensors, environmental chambers, and data acquisition systems 
  • Product testing with existing product support testing, design requirement verification, product issue testing desirable
  • Familiar with testing methodologies and defect reporting process
  • Data analysis and statistics familiarity desirable
  • Demonstrable test plan development and test report writing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong Word, Excel, and Powerpoint skills
  • Demonstrable Matlab or Labview experience
  • Capability to use hand and power tools for creating and building custom test setups for conduction the testing of company products 
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong organization and attention to detail 
  • Must be self-motivated, a self-starter and hands-on
  • Have the capability to lift and/move up to 50 pounds without assistance
