Job Description

The Retail Communications Specialist will serve as the gatekeeper for all retail communications that are distributed to the retail stores. This includes but is not limited to administrative duties such as creating communication or directives, editing or providing feedback on content submitted from various departments, ensuring all communication and and ensuring that all content distributed meets our brand guidelines. Additionally, the Retail Communications Specialist will serve as the system administrator for our Retail Communications Platform, ensuring that all content is relevant and up to date through content management and proper purging of old, expired communication.

Essential Job Results-

Communications:

  • Acts as Gatekeeper for store information, planning and organizational workload. Reviews and prepares all communication with management prior to deployment to retail stores and/or field employees.
  • Creates all of Retail Operations’ communication to the retail stores and/or field employees including but not limited to directives, initiatives, product launches, contests and policy updates.
  • Develops best practices and initiates strategies to improve company field communication processes and execution.
  • Collaborates with cross functional departments to streamline, gather, and present company communication.
  • Manages quarterly newsletter process including but not exclusive to Operations newsletter, New Store Spotlight etc.
  • Manages and maintains all content on our Communications Platform.
  • Updates policies and procedures manual when new policies are established and/or revised. Ensures that current policies are posted on our Communications Platform.

Operations:

  • Answer calls and emails from the Retail Operation helpdesk. Disseminate the information to the appropriate department.
  • • Creates and produce recognition program letters, retail employee anniversary letters, secret shops and customer service letters.
  • • Gathers surveys results from the field. Complies all information into a comprehensive document. Disseminate the results to the appropriate department.

Job Requirements-

  • Must demonstrate proficient skill level in MS Office.
  • In Design and Adobe (Photoshop, AL)  experience is preferred.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships among all cross functional groups.
  • Self-starter with high level of initiative, personal accountability, and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Must display a high degree of professionalism, tact and diplomacy including confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to accommodate shifting timelines and priorities.
  • Must possess and demonstrate superior attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple projects and priorities.

Education and Experience- 

  • High school diploma with at least 5 years of intermediate level administrative work experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Retail background is desirable.  Footwear industry experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to walk; sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel. The employee is occasionally required to sit for long period of times.  The employee is regularly required to lift a 35 - 40lb dress form for garment evaluations.
