Job Description

Smaato is seeking a Development and Operations Engineer to help drive operational and infrastructure requirements, and assist with building tools to manage the infrastructure. The successful candidate will be a team player, capable of collaborating in a fast paced environment, as well capable of working very independently with a high level of self-motivation. The key responsibilities are:

  • Supporting Development Teams with access, design, development support and requirements
  • Implementation of Smaato’s high speed scalable global infrastructure
  • Maintaining the existing AWS infrastructure
  • Collaborate with development and systems teams

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science (or equivalent) and 5+ years of experience in Systems or Development
  • Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
  • Able to shell script and write effective Python or Ruby
  • Extremely comfortable with Unix/Linux CLI (Debian or Ubuntu Linux preferred)
  • Deep familiarity with TCP/IP, with understanding of internet routing protocols and switched environments
  • Distributed systems experience
  • Experience with automated deployment, provisioning, and configuration software like Puppet, Chef, Ansible or Saltstack
  • Experience with installing, managing, and operation of NoSQL and SQL databases, like MongoDB, MySQL and Vertica
  • Familiar with Agile Methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban)
  • Fluency in English; German skills are a plus
