Job Description
This position is part of the Early Career initiative to support Supply Chain functions. The Supply Chain Graduates will undertake 3 x 6-months job rotations across the Smiths Detection Malaysia Johor factory supply chain department.
The job rotation will be across our Factory Planning, Material Planning, and Logistics, giving the candidate a well-rounded experience of manufacturing supply chain. The suitable candidate should demonstrate strong communication, good analytical skills, a proactive approach, adaptability and an interest to further their career in the supply chain field.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- To support and assist the development of the factory Master Production Schedule. This schedule assures management of on-time delivery while optimizing production resources and inventory levels.
- Match supply with demand across the factory.
- To support the department in achieving KPIs related to on time delivery to request and on time to promise to customers.
- To support factory materials planning processes including vendor material forecast generation processes.
- To support process improvements and take leading role in departmental project and improvement objectives.
- To work with the stakeholders to define and implement procedures, policies and documentation to support the continuous improvement in the factory production control and materials planning systems functions in the Sales and Operations Planning process.
- To assist factory operations and capacity planning proposals as part of the global Sales & Operations planning processes.
- Ensure MRP system is accurately maintained with relation to dates and schedules for production and purchase orders.
- To balance demand against capacity (supply) and ensure that relevant actions are taken to ensure that the factory delivers to plan. To interface between the materials supply and operations teams
- Support development of Smits Detection Malaysia logistics capabilities using both excel and Power BI dashboards
- Ability to track and monitor scorecard to rate the supplier performance
- To provide global supply chain reporting and analytical support.
- Provide monthly KPI’s and report on spend trends related to freight, supplier performance and OTD
- To support and participate in programs and projects such as Continuous Improvement, Kaizen etc.
- Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies.
- Comply with all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations
- Other duties as required.

Qualifications
Education:
- Degree in Science/Business or relevant field
Experience:
- Fresh Graduate are encouraged to apply
- Candidate with experience will be an added advantage
Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced computer skills including Excel, Microsoft Word, and Powerpoint.
- Good organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills
