Spear Education is hiring an Instructional Designer. The person in this role will apply research-based learning theory and proven instructional design principles to create impactful learning materials to augment Spear Practice Solutions digital content and consultant services. Assess learning and development needs of client base by meeting with SME’s and Consultants to identify appropriate instructional strategies and develop materials to enhance retention and implementation of learning concepts

Job Description

  • Apply advanced visual design skills to the creation if learning materials, including graphic design, audio/video, and other delivery media.
  • Present and make recommendations regarding course design, technology, and instruction delivery options.
  • Provide analytical support for the design and development of training curricula, learning strategies or courseware standards. 
  • Conduct needs assessments and strategic learning assessments to develop the basis for curriculum development or to update curricula. 
  • Interview subject matter experts or conduct other research to develop instructional content
  • Define instructional, learning, or performance objectives
  • Develop instructional materials, such as lesson plans, handouts, or examinations
  • Design instructional aids for stand-alone or instructor-led classroom or online use
  • Design technology-based learning materials, including web-based aids or electronic
  • Assess effectiveness and efficiency of instruction according to ease of instructional technology use and student learning, knowledge transfer, and satisfaction.     

Qualifications

  • 5+ years design experience
  • Proficiency using MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of InDesign/PowerPoint/Microsoft Suite
  • Experience using ATS platforms
  • Exceptional, professional communication skills to connect with various audiences
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to plan and prioritize
  • Work well in a team environment and present a professional demeanor
  • Detail-oriented and ability to take direction and initiative
  • Adaptable, and trustworthy
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines under pressure and tight constraints
