Splice Machine one of the hottest startups in Big Data. With the only transactional RDBMS on Hadoop, Splice Machine is disrupting the traditional database market and moving Hadoop beyond analytics into real-time applications. We just recently received a $15M Series B from InterWest and Mohr-Davidow.

At the heart of Splice Machine's solution is a fully transactional RDBMS, supporting ACID properties, indexing, query planning and optimization - all in a distributed Hadoop environment. At Splice Machine, a Database Internals Engineer will become intimately familiar with our product's database internals, from parsing to planning to optimization to execution.  You will work with company architects to guide decisions regarding database architecture, design and implement new features, and enhance/tune existing features as we expand product capabilities.

REQUIRED:

• B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
• Developing and implementing database systems internals (e.g. SQL/NoSQL databases, indexing, query planning and optimization, statistics, transaction processing, distributed database architectures, etc.)

DESIRED:

• Java or C/C++
• NoSQL/SQL application development experience
• Big Data development experience (Hadoop, etc.)
• Parallel distributed programming experience
