Job Description

About the Software Engineer, CRM (iOS) role (San Francisco)

Our mission is to help merchants grow their business by giving them tools to know, support, engage, and acquire their customers. Our product suite includes CRM, omni-channel marketing (e.g. email, social, advertising), feedback and messaging, loyalty and rewards. Square offers a seamless and simple solution that saves them time and eliminates the uncertainty and stress of marketing their business.

You Will:

  • Work in a modern Swift and Objective C codebase

  • Work closely with product management, design and internal teams to understand needs and develop solutions to improving operations and end-user experience.

  • Be responsible for the entirety of your features including client structure, server interactions, API design, implementation and automated testing.

  • Own and drive improvements on app architecture

  • Improve developer experience for their teammates and others

  • Visit merchants to see the product(s) in action

  • Give opportunities to stretch yourself by learning new technologies

Qualifications

You have:

  • Knowledge of CS fundamentals and code organization

  • Experience developing apps for iOS in Objective-C and/or Swift

  • A consistent track record of shipping quality software that positively impacts your end customer

  • 3+ years of software development experience or equivalent

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar experience

  • Critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills
