Job Description

To support our rapid growth in Australia, we’re looking for an energetic and customer-focused Channel Partner Manager to help optimise our local supply and logistics operations as well as manage and grow relationships with key channels and partners.

As Channel Partner Manager, you’ll lead our efforts to develop relationships with strategic retailers, logistics, resellers, distribution partners and all areas of our supply chain. Along with this you’ll work closely with San Francisco and Melbourne based product and business teams to prospect, negotiate, launch and manage further partnerships to ensure our products are accessible to Australian businesses.

You will: 

  • Manage the day to day hardware logistics operations for Square Australia. Including (yet not limited to) overseeing and continually improving operational workflows and relationships, managing retail and eCommerce shipments, working alongside a cross-functional team to ensure optimised supply across all channels.

  • Work with our global hardware teams to undertake comprehensive system analysis and manage key distributor and warehousing relationships as it relates to Square hardware.

  • Collaborate with Acquisition and Strategy teams to identify further partnership and distribution opportunities via third-party relationships.

  • Assist with development and implementation of AU strategy to increase the public awareness and overall exposure of Square’s products via key events and/or festivals.

  • Own non-technical partner relationships end-to-end, from initial negotiations to launch through to account management.

  • Lead key retail channel partnerships to ensure the successful ranging of current and future Square products across all retail store and distribution partnerships across Australia.

  • Identify and continue to expand Square’s retail reach across Australia.

  • Undertake ongoing optimisation reviews to ensure our end-to-end distribution and supply operations are operating as well as possible to drive both efficiencies, reach and financial viability.

  • Work across cross-functional global Square teams to expedite the deployment of partnerships, including creative, legal, finance, product, comms, etc.

  • Design and implement analytics systems to measure and optimise Partnerships.

  • Ensure tracking and forecasting systems are optimised to enable our manufacturing and distribution mechanisms to appropriately ensure supply within the local market.

  • Work closely with cross-functional Square teams in deployment of partnership agreements, including creative, legal, finance, product, comms, etc.

  • Own relationships with Partners and continue to work with them to deepen relationships.

Qualifications

You have: 

  • A Bachelor's degree required or equivalent practical experience, MBA optional.

  • 5-8 years of experience with at least 1-2 years in operating role in strategy, logistics, business development, or product management.

  • Demonstrated experience negotiating and closing business deals with external partners.

  • Demonstrated product sense and experience launching new products/features, and/or partnerships requiring technical integration.

  • Strong analytical skills – able to evaluate opportunities from strategic, brand, financial, and operational perspectives.

  • Track record of undertaking multi-layered analysis of procedures and systems to drive continual improvement.

  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to drive programs and/or products.

  • Proven ability to develop relationships, negotiate, and problem solve with external partners.

  • Strong team player with excellent track record of success in highly matrixed, fast-paced environments with changing priorities.

This is a highly collaborative and cross-functional role and this person will need to work across all of Square, both in the Melbourne office and with headquarters in San Francisco, CA.
