Local Operations Manager

  • Full-time

Company Description

Want your favorite burger joint, but hate the traffic and long lines? We're a team of passionate foodies solving that exact problem for your home and office. At Caviar, we believe in an environment that allows you to be creative and go beyond the call of duty. We're looking for exceptionally talented individuals who want to learn and grow with the company. Each and every day counts - you'll make a direct impact to the business starting from Day 1.

Job Description

As our business continues to grow at a fast pace, we are looking to grow our world-class courier fleet and continue to optimize overall delivery time and courier utilization metrics. Our couriers are a critical piece to our three-sided marketplace and are on the front lines of our mission. We need you to recruit and engage them, and then manage programs to ensure they are the best in class performers and the most fairly paid in the industry.

We are looking for a dynamic Local Operations Manager. Someone who can be both a highly analytical problem solver moving the needle on delivery time metrics and an empathetic community builder who will manage all aspects of courier onboarding, communication, and retention for Los Angeles. This will be a logistics-focused role with a heavy emphasis on data analytics, people communications, courier onboarding, and program management

Qualifications

You will:

  • Interview and onboard Couriers on a weekly basis.
  • Analyze previous week’s retention rates, courier turnout, demand patterns, and other trends to improve supply predictability and reliability
  • Develop and execute campaigns, communications, and events to optimize the retention and productivity of Caviar’s Los Angeles courier fleet.
  • Work closely with fellow Logistics Operations Managers and the Los Angeles GM to ensure our couriers perform the best of any on-demand service on the planet.
  • Monitor logistics in real-time, especially during peak hours, and respond to unexpected challenges (traffic situations, sudden weather, courier no-shows) to ensure we get adequate courier supply to meet demand.
  • Refine existing courier milestone (i.e., bonus) programs to maximize both impact and profitability.
  • Develop new programs to improve delivery time metrics, courier quality metrics, and courier pay using a data-driven approach
  • Analyze restaurants’ operational metrics, and partner directly with our restaurants to improve their in-house operations, driving higher-quality and more efficient deliveries for Los Angeles.

You have:

  • A passion for data-driven problem solving. You love numbers, spreadsheets with data, and dashboards. You can point to multiple analytical projects to show how you took unstructured data, developed a strategic plan and took action. SQL proficiency is a plus.
  • An attitude of continuous improvement. You see opportunities to improve processes and unlock efficiencies everywhere.
  • Excellent people skills where you can communicate easily with all our stakeholders: Caviar colleagues, restaurant managers and owners, and of course, delivery drivers.
  • Extreme ownership. You might have been an entrepreneur or plan to be one day. You roll-up-your-sleeves and have a “whatever it takes” mindset. You can point to multiple experiences (personal and professional) where you exhibited grit and resourcefulness.
