Job Description

We are looking for a strategic, analytical and results-oriented individual to drive our Canadian business operations. Reporting to the Head of Canada, this person will work on a variety of projects designed to accelerate Square’s success and growth in the Canadian market including analyzing market trends, uncovering strategic opportunities and making recommendations to our leadership team. The successful candidate will possess a wide range of skills from strong analytical problem-solving to experience managing complex projects and building effective cross-functional relationships. Ideally, this person will have recently worked at a top-tier management consultancy, or within operations/analytics at a tech company. This role is based in San Francisco. 

You will:

  • Analyze market and company data to inform business decisions, make strategic recommendations, and lead cross-functional projects to drive growth efforts in Canada

  • Create and automate analytics and reporting required to monitor performance and to drive further improvements in our business

  • Perform deep dive analytics on high-impact topics and make recommendations based on your assessment

  • Present key results and recommendations to senior executives via verbal, email and presentation media in order to gain buy-in on new initiatives

  • Interact regularly with the customers and partners in Canada and San Francisco-based Square teams

Qualifications

You have:

  • 2-4 years of work experience in biz ops, consulting, finance, analytics, or product management

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in analytical or technical field preferred; MBA preferred but not required

  • Expert quantitative analysis and logical reasoning skills; experience with Tableau & SQL highly desirable

  • A results-oriented approach, with an inherent ability to translate innovative and complex strategies into an executable plan

  • Ability to prioritize incoming requests and good sense of when it is appropriate to 80/20

  • The ability to clearly communicate complex results to business partners

  • Self-starter attitude and high degree of motivation to go above and beyond the task at hand

  • Nice to have: familiarity with the Canadian market
