The Globalization team is looking for a highly motivated and technically skilled internationalization engineer to partner closely with various engineering and product teams within Square. Your responsibility will be to enhance our localization infrastructure, create international libraries, create new i18n functions to help development create global-ready products and applications to ultimately deliver an awesome experience for our global users. You will also be Square’s subject matter expert on i18n development process and aid in solving i18n issues across functions to help Square expand globally. You will be a key member in shaping how we deliver Square products for our international markets.

You Will:

• Contribute to and lead design discussions for full-stack features and systems
• Maintain our high bar for analytics-based decision making by considering analysis in everything you do
• Enhance our current infrastructure in order to reduce manual tasks for the project managers
• Develop and enhance our current development methodology and practice
• Design and implement scalable, efficient, sustainable, and robust code
• Monitor system performance and ensure our systems can scale as our business grows
• Help mentor other developers to help them resolve technical issues
• Improve and develop Square’s technical best practices
• Work with teams across Square to provide the most cohesive experience for all our users worldwide
• Work with product teams to develop new features and services.
• Engage and build relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Marketing, etc.) to ensure applications are developed globalization-ready
• Be a critical part of new country launches and international expansion.

You have:

• A strong desire to perform and grow as an engineer

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

• 2+ years of experience in engineering

• Demonstrated your love for engineering through side projects, research, or open source contribution

• Interpersonal skills that allow you to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural team

• Interest in internationalization and localization engineering development and methodology
