Square is looking for talented front end web engineers that also have a strong interest in design and attention to detail. This is a hybrid role, rooted in engineering but working within and contributing to Square’s product design team.

Our main project is Square Dashboard, our merchant-facing web app that provides exceptional business and customer management tools. Our contributor base and feature set is growing significantly. We’re looking for passionate engineers to contribute to this effort and other web initiatives throughout Square.

As a UI Engineer in Register Design, you’ll hit the ground running to help us:

• Build modern, well crafted UI elements and components used by hundreds of engineers across Square
• Collaborate with design on new web initiatives and give feedback early in the process
• Contribute to front end projects throughout Square to provide the most cohesive user experience in the industry

In this role, you'll be working on our main web front end technologies stack: Sass, JavaScript, jQuery, Ember.js

You have:

• Strong coding skills in front end web development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Experience building responsive websites and/or web apps
• Experience in or desire to learn jQuery, Ember, Sass, and other web app frameworks
• A passion for well crafted, modern UI elements and components
• Experience and interest working closely with product designers

Even better:

• Product design experience - wireframing, visual, prototyping, research
• Can speak comfortably on the direction of the web in 2017 and beyond
