In Risk Operations at Square, you'll design, build, and operationalize systems and processes to root out fraudulent and other high-risk activity across the Square platform of products. We are looking for a Risk Business Analyst to join our ever-evolving Risk Business Operations team, which is directly responsible for the most complex process and analytical work.

The Risk Business Analyst will work hand in hand with Square’s growing number of product teams and partner closely with many different orgs across the business - e.g., legal, finance, accounting, operations, sales, and more. You will have the opportunity to drive innovation and influence Square’s international Risk roadmap, programs, and processes.

You will also manage top level Risk KPIs, establish core operational metrics, and drive process improvements through analysis. The ideal candidate has experience with operational projects and possesses exceptional analytical, cross-functional, and communication skills. This role will require a bias toward taking action in a fast-paced environment.

You will:

• Diagnose problems and develop compelling, data-driven recommendations

• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to design solutions to operations problems, influence product roadmaps, and solution new products and processes

• Present analyses and findings to senior management to steer Square’s strategic vision

• Manage the development and reporting of key performance indicators for the entire Risk organization

• Perform ad hoc data analysis to remove roadblocks and keep operations running smoothly

• Drive innovative risk solutions through third-party evaluation and integration with a focus on improving the seller experience

You have:

• A BS/BA in Statistics, Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Business, or a related technical field

• 4-7 years of relevant experience (or masters & 2-5 years)

• Excellent analytical skills and problem solving ability

• Understanding of statistical analysis

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with data visualization technology (e.g. Tableau)

• The ability to answer unstructured business questions and work independently to drive projects to conclusion

• A strong passion for Square’s mission

Even better:

• Experience with scripting and data analysis programming languages (e.g. Python, R, etc)

• Experience designing, implementing, and measuring A/B Tests

• Experience using statistics and machine learning to solve complex business problems
