Job Description

Square is looking for high-energy, driven professionals with sound business insight and natural sales instincts to join, and help build our Sales Development organization. You will help Square move upmarket by prospecting strategic level accounts and articulate the value of Square for large multi-location businesses. This position is more senior than our BDR position and requires proven outbound experience.

As the first line of outbound contact, you are able to understand the diverse business needs of our largest merchants. You are quick on your feet, tenacious, and possess grit to overcome objections. You will become an expert in the products and services that enable merchants to thrive within the Square ecosystem. You will use your convincing personality and passion for winning to raise the bar of success, documenting and tracking qualified opportunities to pass onto the Strategic Account Executive team. You will use a data-driven approach to outbound sales that incorporates prospecting, email communication, and calling 50 merchants per day.

You will:

  • Prospect strategic level accounts for Square, pushing the envelope of our capabilities in new and creative ways

  • Utilize cold calling to qualify leads and set up meetings between merchants and members of our Strategic Account Executive team

  • Build our business through outreach emails and customized messaging

  • Create a great first impression to our prospects by inspiring them to learn how Square can benefit their business

  • Learn and maintain a firm understanding of our sales process and product ecosystem

  • Thrive in operating in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment that is prone to changes

  • Smash your monthly quotas

Qualifications

You have:

  • No reservations communicating over the phone

  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience

  • 1-3 years in a qualifying or prospecting role required
