Job Description

Square is looking for high-energy, driven professionals with sound business acumen and natural sales instincts to join, and help build, our Sales Development organization. You will help lay the foundation of this sales effort through prospecting prospective sellers and articulating the value of Square for their business. As a Sales Development Representative, you will work strategically with our Sales team to qualify deals and create dramatic growth for the sales team.

You will:

  • Research and prioritize prospective merchant partners

  • Utilize cold calling to qualify leads and set up meetings between merchants and members of our sales team

  • Build our business through outreach emails and phone calls

  • Create a great first impression to our prospects and inspire them to learn how Square can benefit their business

  • Gain sales exposure and experience by partnering with our sales reps

Qualifications

You have:

  • A strong desire to grow your career in sales

  • Determination, positive attitude, and ability to self-motivate

  • Critical thinking and strong decision making abilities

  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • An assertive, resilient and persuasive personality

  • No reservations communicating over the phone

  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience

  • Experience in client-facing or sales role
