Job Description

Square is looking for individuals passionate about working with merchants across all aspects of their business. We are looking for an Account Executive to join our e-commerce Sales Team. Your entrepreneurial spirit and passion for problem-solving will help you find opportunities for Square to help merchants grow. As an Account Executive at Square, you will drive Square’s future e-commerce growth engine by building relationships with prospective clients and turning them into Square merchants. Your experience working with SMB and mid-market businesses will help you identify ideal customer profiles and navigate through a technical and potentially complex sales environment.


You will:

  • Work directly with our lead generation team to identify high-potential e-commerce prospective customers

  • Develop outbound strategies across several verticals

  • Communicate constantly with prospects via phone & email (80% of time)

  • Work with sales operations to understand market data to develop key insights to optimize sales targeting and sales process

  • Lead in developing and circulating the set of best practices which are the foundation of this growing team

  • Engage with Product and Engineering teams to help drive product strategy

  • Collaborate with Partnerships team to identify and win key e-commerce opportunities

  • Act as an outward-facing ambassador of Square’s beliefs, brand, and products

Qualifications

You have:

  • 2+ years of e-commerce sales experience with a track record of top performance

  • Previous experience in outbound sales and prospecting

  • Problem-solving skills to enable you to operate in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment

  • Ability to understand Square’s APIs and to communicate with technical customers

  • Ability to understand complex business requirements and the ability to translate these needs into clear deliverables

  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
