Job Description

Square is looking for a strategic, creative, and results-oriented brand marketing manager. In this role, you will be responsible for helping to evolve our brand strategy as well as managing the development of brand marketing initiatives designed to further build the Square brand and drive the Square business. You will be a member of a team unified by its passion for building what is already one of the most loved brands among small businesses. You will manage campaigns that leverage a variety of owned, earned and paid channels including film, digital, social, web, events and sponsorships. You will partner closely with our creative and channel teams to develop and deliver go-to-market plans. You will measure, analyze and optimize campaign performance. Finally, you will be a member of a growing marketing team, reporting to the Brand, Sponsorship and Retail Lead.

The ideal candidate for this position will have worked for a developed or emerging brand, having played a role in building brand awareness and consumer engagement. They will have managed a variety of marketing programs. They will feel comfortable interacting with cross-functional teams and external partners. They will thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

You Will:

  • Support evolution of Square’s brand strategy and architecture.

  • Analyze and report on the brand competitive landscape.

  • Develop a deep understanding of customer mindsets, attitudes, & behaviors.

  • Manage planning and implementation of brand marketing initiatives.

  • Work cross-functionally with the product, product marketing, creative and other channel marketing managers to build the brand and deepen customer engagement.

  • Collaborate with country marketing managers to support international brand growth.

  • Manage budget to maximize effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Understanding of all marketing touch points, especially digital

  • Capable of managing and optimizing marketing channels to maximizing ROI

  • Balance of analytical and creative thinking

  • Self-starter with strong communication skills

  • BA/BS degree required, Masters degree preferred
