Job Description
To support our rapid growth in Australia, we’re looking for an energetic and customer-focused Head of Business Development & Growth, to help develop and implement the local growth strategy. You’ll help shape the future direction of Square in Australia whilst ensuing that we have a strong pipeline of growth and become a key member of the leadership team.
As Square continues to deploy exciting new innovation solutions in Payments and Software, Square is looking for a high-energy, driven professional with sound business development skills and natural growth instincts to join and help build our Australian capability. As an experienced business development professional you will have strong strategic skills with first-hand knowledge and experience with developing and implementing an end-to-end strategy.
You will:
Collate and own the local growth strategy across key industry verticals
Be an avid user of technology solutions and adopt quickly to understand emerging trends and innovation
Implement an acquisition program and tiered Sales Roadmap that evolves with the growth of the business
Work closely with leading Australian merchant brands to assess the appeal of Square’s product and services
Develop Business Development and Sales programs for targeted industry verticals
Be accountable for overarching growth and delivery of targets
Rapidly respond to marketing driven inbound leads and engage directly with current Square customers
Develop and negotiate key contracts with prospective partners
Collaborate closely with the Strategy and Marketing teams
Become a brand ambassador for Square
Ability to influence C-level executives along with passionate small business owners
Design and implement practical Sales, Business Development and Retention procedures
Become a specialist in product to enable you to identify business-specific cross-sell and upsell opportunities
Thrive in operating in a dynamic and fast-paced, high growth environment
Qualifications
You have:
A strong desire to grow your career in Head of Business Development & Growth
A passion for working with Australian small businesses
A love and strong understanding of technology and innovation
Preferably had prior experience within a SaaS business
An exposure to strategic or management consulting
A willingness to own the strategic level direction whilst maintaining a passion for grass-roots
Critical thinking and strong decision-making abilities
Comfort operating in a fast-paced and ever-changing dynamic environment
Comfortable with quantitative and qualitative measures and analysis to help drive in market activity
An assertive, resilient and persuasive personality
A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
