Job Description

Square's Marketing Operations Analyst is a hybrid of traditional jobs in product marketing, data analytics, and business operations.

You will use Square’s vast amount of product and marketing data to launch, track, and analyze the success of marketing campaigns targeting millions of existing Square sellers. As the analytics partner for marketing managers, product analysts, and operations professionals, you will be tasked with identifying and executing on opportunities for product growth, process improvement and automation, and marketing insights. You will be charged with making our marketing operations faster, more intelligent, and more impactful.

You will collaborate closely with teams across the company, and success will be measured by your ability to drive regular campaign launches and analysis while also suggesting and owning longer-term projects that drive step-function improvements in the operational efficiency and impact of the team.

You Will:

  • Partner with marketing operations team to plan, launch, and analyze the success of marketing campaigns

  • Design and implement scalable marketing operations processes that reduce friction, increase visibility into campaign launches and performance, and improve the Square seller experience

  • Consult with product teams and analysts across Square to formulate targeting strategies and define product-specific KPIs and success metrics

  • Design and advise on proper testing methodologies and frameworks for message optimization

  • Empower marketing and product stakeholders to self-serve data insights by designing and building customizable analytics dashboards and tools

Qualifications

You Have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in an analytical discipline such as engineering, computer science, economics, or statistics

  • 2+ years of work experience in marketing, sales operations, data analytics, or a similarly data-driven role

  • Expertise in data analysis and manipulation using database (SQL) and Visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Excel, etc)

  • Demonstrated experience applying quantitative analysis and logical reasoning to drive business outcomes

  • Creativity in developing actionable analysis and recommendations

  • Self-starter and high degree of motivation to go above and beyond the task at hand

  • Ability to succeed in a collaborative, start-up environment

  • Nice to have:

      • Experience working with small businesses and experience growing a Web/SaaS business

      • Development experience with Python, Ruby, etc. a strong plus

      • Experience with version control using Git
