Job Description

The Square Business Services team works with the largest Square merchants to grow their business using the power of Square. We are looking to hire our first Manager for our London office to build out the function. You will be responsible for hands-on account management of key clients initially before building a high performing team including developing processes, tools, systems and metrics to scale the team.

You will:

  • Initially manage Square UK’s book of business for our largest sellers

  • Build out a "triggers" programme to proactively reaches out to Square's existing sellers based on churn risk

  • Understand customer needs to help achieve their business goals through Square

  • Effectively and strategically address customer concerns and issues

  • Work with our Sales, Support and Product teams to make sure customers have the best possible experience across all aspects of Square

  • Implement creative ways to improve our customer relationships, tailor and share performance-enhancing suggestions

  • Use customer insights with larger sellers to identify challenges for all Square sellers and work with support and marketing team to present requests to the product

  • Build out an account management team to serve the UK business

  • Build the necessary processes and systems to run our book of business

  • Work with rest of the team to refine processes and engagement model to improve results

Qualifications

You have:

  • 4+ years of experience in a sales or account management role

  • 1-2 years of people management experience in a high volume environment

  • High degree of comfort speaking with customers via phone
    Passion and knowledge about how new technologies can help better serve small and medium size businesses

  • Strong interest in business operations and strategy

  • Strong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to adapt to new situations quickly

  • Experience in hiring a plus

  • Related Bachelor’s degree
