Job Description

Square Payroll is the easiest way for small businesses to pay their employees. Our customers love our product because it is well designed, easy to use, and integrated with the rest of their business operations.

We’re a full stack team, spanning engineering, design, product, operations and growth. In this role, you’ll be responsible for growing the user base of Square Payroll. We’re seeking an entrepreneurial product manager who can pair quantitative insights with qualitative findings. We expect this product manager to work with data scientists, designers, engineers, researchers and marketers on a daily basis to build scalable acquisition channels.

This role will be expected to track key performance indicators and report results to leaders across the company on a regular cadence. The ideal candidate will have significant experience working on software products, in addition to a strong analytical background.

You will:

  • Work in a fast-paced, high-impact team of engineers, designers, marketers, and data analysts to develop and prioritize new strategies, product initiatives, and growth programs.

  • Bring cohesion to all acquisition efforts, from strategy through design and execution.

  • Design and develop experiments, analyze patterns and trends, and identify new opportunities for growth.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to prioritize and pursue the highest impact opportunities.

  • Build cohesive content strategy across web, email, blog, case studies, and welcome emails.

  • Identify, optimize and scale acquisition channels.

  • Set and own aggressive growth targets and results.

  • Scale our experimentation platform.

  • Craft product messaging and positioning, test and optimize across target audiences.

  • Drive the go-to-market strategy: Build, optimize, and scale go-to-market playbooks and marketing assets for launches and feature updates.

  • Engagement & Lifecycle campaigns: Create campaign strategies that dramatically impact in adoption and engagement working with both local and paid marketing teams.

Qualifications

You have:

  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10+ years professional experience.

  • 5+ years working in a product marketing or product management capacity.

  • Strategy consulting experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong quantitative analytical ability and excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Comfort in a face-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment.
