Job Description

Finance & Strategy is responsible for improving strategic and financial decision-making across the company. We maintain the company’s operating model, analyze deals and capital allocation decisions, and think a lot about strategy. You will:

  • Act as a Finance Business Partner (FBP) to Square's Head of Sales and the broader Sales team

  • Support strategic decision making, which will include initiatives such as financial modeling, go-to-market (GTM) strategy formulation, channel performance measurement

  • Partner with Square's Head of Sales to formulate quotas and commissions structures for the Sales team

  • Derive pricing analytics and strategies in support of Sales and Partnership deal opportunities with large merchants

  • Actively mine data from our SQL databases and use it to predict short-term and long-term trends for making strategic decisions

  • Partner with Business team through lifecycle of merchant acquisition strategies by quantifying success metrics, securing company resources and analyzing program returns

  • Develop KPI frameworks to track team-specific and company-wide performance

  • Build trust through numerically-driven insights and analysis

Qualifications

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or other relevant field

  • 5 to 8 years of relevant industry experience with financial modeling (e.g. investment banking, private equity, finance and strategy, consulting)

  • Excellent proficiency in Excel (you should be prepared for a case study)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Exceptional judgement and maturity, including an ability to execute independently and work with team members of all levels

Even better:

  • Experience with SQL

  • Experience with data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau)
