We are looking for an experienced analyst who will work as a member of Square’s Corporate Finance & Strategy team, and who will directly influence key elements of Square’s strategic decision making, operational execution, and financial forecasting.  You will also play a critical role in building the analytical capabilities and delivering insights that will inform decisions regarding Square’s investments across a range of functions.

You will:

• Apply an analytical approach to support strategic decision making, with a focus on building the foundations for scalable, enterprise-level operating efficiency

• Partner with key organizations across Square, including the finance, operations and platform engineering functions to optimize financial planning processes, policies, and the implementation of key team initiatives

• Develop metrics to track team-specific and company-wide trends, identify opportunities, clearly communicate recommendations, and collaborate across all levels of the organization

• Distill data and create analyses that will facilitate clear and timely decision making; improve visibility and usability of our existing data, and use that data create measurable goals

• Prepare analysis and support communications with board members and executive staff

• Build trust through numerically-driven insights and analysis

You have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or other relevant field

• 4-8 years of relevant industry experience with financial modeling (e.g. investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, consulting)

• Excellent proficiency in Excel (you should be prepared for a modeling interview)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Consistent track record of success and career progression

• Exceptional judgement and maturity, including an ability to execute independently and work with team members of all levels

• Basic understanding of the payments industry and a commitment to Square’s mission

Even better:

• Experience with Hyperion is a plus

• Experience with SQL is a plus
