Job Description

We’re searching for a Bay Area Operations Lead to join our team to own Caviar’s Bay Area operations strategy and execute upon it.  You will lead a large team to ensure adequate supply-matching to our marketplace demand, help us integrate and scale our catering business, all while utilizing your strong combination of savvy analytics, strategic thinking, and bias toward execution.  The major pillars of work your team will be working on are courier turnout and comms, catering operations, inventory supply management, and healthy doses of testing to push for efficiencies on the supplyside of our business.  

We’re looking for someone hungry for hands-on experience, eager to quickly develop new skills as needs arise, and willing to take ownership of new projects, but at the same time someone who can inspire and motivate a large team.  If you have a proven aptitude for blending analytics and creativity to scope and solve complex logistical problems, the operational prowess to get stuff done, the organizational skills to keep track of many moving pieces, a process-driven approach to building solutions, and the managerial finesse to navigate cross-functional colleagues as well as direct line reports, consider this the job for you. 

Qualifications

You will:

  • Be the expert on the Bay Area team for all things operations, fully owning the supplyside of our business to ship best in class practices and insights across Caviar.
  • Own roll-outs, experiments, and pilots in our HQ market that will be first iterations that frequently distribute nationally and/or inform new product features.
  • Constantly pilot new ideas and efficiencies.
  • Identify places to streamline and improve operations and help improve or innovate new processes.
  • Develop analytical frameworks, build models, and present structured thoughts to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Hire (as needed), train, and motivate a team of Square employees across courier ops and catering ops, as well as policies and practices that impact 100s of couriers working with Caviar and catering captains.  
  • Lead by example and establish a fun, inclusive, and safe work environment.

  • Strong problem solving skills with keen ability to support decisions with data.
  • A highly organized, process-driven approach.
  • An ability to collaborate and manage projects across multiple teams at once.
  • The ability to structure a well designed model as well as give a motivational speech in a large room environment.
  • Interest and aptitude for quickly ramping up on new skills/tools as needed.
  • Management consulting and/or MBA from a top tier school considered a plus.
  • Experience with Looker or SQL is a plus.
