Square Console is an internal-facing tool that provides access to all of Square’s infrastructure services to Square product engineers, and is analogous to AWS’s console or GCP’s console.  This mission critical tool enables efficient, easy cloud-like access to Square’s data centers as well as Square’s infrastructure services running on commercial cloud environments, and is used by several hundred product engineers at Square several times a day.

We’re seeking a front-end engineer who is passionate about building applications to help product engineers operate and manage their services to ship products reliably and efficiently. You will build the front-end features to create a world-class developer experience. You will work with both front-end and back-end engineers to build all rich and complex browser based tooling. You will develop, maintain and improve build and test toolchains.

You have:

• Innate curiosity and desire to build products that developers love to use.

• Desire to solve hard and engaging engineering problems.

• Deep understanding of how the web works with experience developing web applications and can make pragmatic engineering decisions from that knowledge.

• A record of pursuing self directed side projects, research, or open source projects.

• 3+ years professional experience building web applications.

Languages and technologies we use:

• JavaScript, ES6, React, Sass, Webpack and other web-app frameworks

• Testing frameworks like (QUnit, Mocha, Jest, etc.)
