Occupancy Planner

  • Full-time

Company Description

We believe the economy is better when everyone has access. When everyone has room to grow. No one should be left out because the cost is too great or the technology too complex. We started with a little white credit card reader but haven’t stopped there. We’re empowering the independent electrician to send invoices, setting up the favorite food truck with a delivery option, helping the ice cream shop pay its employees, and giving the burgeoning coffee chain capital for a second, third, and fourth location. We’re here to help sellers of all sizes start, run, and grow their business—and helping them grow their business is good business for everyone.

Job Description

As Square’s Occupancy Planner, your goal is to manage seating in Square’s global portfolio: the role is equal parts project manager, data analyst, and relationship builder.  You will manage seating records in Office Space, Square’s CAFM system, maintain the occupancy dashboard, perform building capacity analysis, and manage cross-functional seating projects in collaboration with a wide range of internal partners.

You are a creative problem solver with meticulous attention to detail, take a proactive approach to tackling issues, and are able to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.  Because the role includes significant collaborative analytical work, you will have demonstrated proficiency with Excel and GSuite, and the aptitude to quickly master new technical tools and platforms

Qualifications

You Will:

  • Develop seating plans that will solve for occupancy constraints while taking a creative approach to space management.

  • Utilize Square’s CAFM and occupancy reporting tools to monitor space demand.

  • Build relationships with team leads in order to foster a collaborative approach to seating management, and understand the key stakeholder perspectives that inform problem-solving.

  • Conduct interviews with team stakeholders and gather seating requirements for restack projects.

  • Track projected and actual team and building level occupancy information; maintain the planning database and metrics dashboard.

  • Manage seating via Square’s global CAFM system: maintain seating records; facilitate new hire seat assignments; perform periodic audits, and support the Workplace Team’s execution of physical move projects.

  • Partner with Office Managers to solve seating issues as they arise.

  • Create building restack plans and seating test-fits for optimization and new build projects.

  • Develop, in partnership with the Real Estate team, financial scenarios for portfolio expansion.

You Have:

  • 2-3 years experience on a Workplace or Real Estate team, ideally in occupancy planning or space management, or transferable analytical and project management skills.

  • Familiarity with CAFM/IWMS software

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Excel or other spreadsheet tools; familiarity with GSuite.

  • Excellent communication skills, strong orientation toward customer service.

  • Attention to detail and the drive to produce results.

  • A highly flexible working style, with the ability to balance multiple competing priorities.
