Caviar is looking for a Risk Lead to manage our national Risk team, a part of our national Operations organization which includes our Support, Live Operations, and Restaurant Operations teams.
Caviar Risk analyzes emerging fraud threats, develops data driven insights, and intervenes to prevent damage to Caviar’s business. The Risk Lead will partner with teams across Caviar to develop operations strategy, processes, and tools which maximize our ability to identify and action on cases of fraud.
This position relies on sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Individual problem-solving and analytical skills are used to authenticate customers, review transaction patterns, and perform exploratory analyses on emerging fraud trends. Decisions are made in real time, using complex data sets, and are expected to be high caliber.
You will take responsibility for driving projects from inception to delivery. The role is analytical and there is enormous opportunity to be proactive about identifying new opportunities and developing innovative insights from Caviar’s data. This also extends to execution and team leadership, where you will collaborate with stakeholders and lead the Risk team in implementing tools and processes that reduce Caviar’s risk profile.

Distill data using SQL to design and implement analyses that drive actionable insights
Effectively present and communicate analyses to leadership and other stakeholders in order to drive business decisions
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to design solutions to operations problems, influence product roadmaps, and solution new products/processes
Perform ad-hoc analysis to identify trends, enhance fraud rules, and improve automation
Diagnose problems and develop compelling, data-driven recommendations, policies and processes with the goal of minimizing loss and/or driving growth
Engage in ongoing written and verbal communication with management, analysts, engineers, data scientists, and product teams in order to meet objectives and loss targets
Work experience: 4+ years of experience in risk and fraud at a technology company
Education: Bachelor’s degree required with a major in an analytical field preferred; MBA or similar professional degree preferred (or equivalent work experience)
High caliber analytical skills: the ability to pull and manipulate large datasets using SQL and other tools, recognize complex patterns, and present sound analyses to stakeholders as demonstrated through real-world application
