We’re looking for a talented Systems Engineer to join our IT Ops team, providing service to our global offices and building the infrastructure that keeps Square running smoothly and contributes to our mission of economic empowerment. You will play a critical role in management and administration of our Linux/Unix and other infrastructure that supports our internal employees.
Configure servers and services to integrate and serve the internal corporate needs of Square.
Manage UNIX-based and UNIX-like operating systems.
Automate with Puppet.
Design and architect services to be highly available by need.
Monitor and maintain system uptime and availability.
Participate in an on call rotation with a team of 6
Research and test new possible products for Square IT to deploy internally.
Help manage, maintain and architect system security and automation.
Integrate off-the-shelf software with open-source and home-brew.
Work with cross functional teams such as Neteng, Infosec, and Platform Engineering.
Experience with Linux/Unix/Windows infrastructure, systems, software, and tools
Demonstrated experience with scripting and building internal tools and automation at scale
Experience with storage architecture, data centers, networking, virtualization, containerization.
Experience with Foreman, Docker, Kubernetes, VMware, NetApp
