Job Description

Squares Hardware Team builds the tangible connection to Square. We started with a simple and elegant Reader that turns any phone or tablet into a mobile point of sale - and we continue to lead this category with advances in chip card and NFC technology. Next, we introduced the Square Stand, the best way to turn your iPad into a countertop point of sale. Most recently, we expanded our HW portfolio with our first Android-based solution: Square Register, the first fully integrated point of sale that enables people to start selling right out of the box. As we introduce more products, we will meet the needs of more and more sellers with stand-out hardware products, globally.

You Will

  • Bring data to help inform opportunities for operational performance improvement

    • Build out metrics and KPIs for HW Ops by working with business DRIs

    • Ensure supply chain objectives are being achieved through dashboards that actively monitor performance

    • Be responsible for defining, developing and optimizing curated datasets with standardized metrics for consumption by the operations team

  • Act as the focal point for all Ops data requests and ensure that work plans are optimized for scale and speed

  • Create and manage said work plans, facilitate the collaboration of cross-functional teams and technical teams, own final deliverables, and measure incremental improvements through KPIs

  • Translate business and analytics needs into well-defined data and process requirements to support

  • Influence cross-functional decision making by identifying opportunities through data

  • Perform ad hoc analysis, respond to insight requests and data extractions to resolve critical business issues

  • Be the ambassador for Hardware Operations data.

Qualifications

You have:

  • A strong understanding of operations and supply chain that will enable you to define and optimize metrics and improvement opportunities

  • A strong track record in working with and influencing cross-functional partners and solving ambiguous problems and seeing them through to completion

  • Experience querying relational databases (e.g. Vertica, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) Even better if experience with Snowflake

  • Experience translating business goals into metrics and building dashboards and visualizations using BI tools (e.g. Tableau). Preference given for Looker

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex details into the big picture

  • Experience in consumer electronics supply chain
