Square processes billions of dollars every year. At that scale, small tweaks can lead to huge efficiency gains. Payment Intelligence makes data-driven improvements to core payment metrics such as decline rates and transaction profit. The team is also responsible for correctly setting up and managing Squares payment processing fees.
Pricing Platform - as Squares product ecosystem is growing, we need to support ever changing pricing requirements while also automate complex business workflows.
Applying Machine Learning to pricing - being able to personalize and automate pricing workflows is a crucial way to help Squares business to grow
Pricing monitoring - providing real-time insights into pricing decisions
Identify and introduce margin optimization changes
Work across the whole payment stack that consists of dozens of micro services
Implement pricing, fee and price prediction functionality
Work cross-functionally with our product, business, and finance teams to develop Squares global payments strategy
BA/BS degree (or equivalent experience) in building and architecting backend systems (8+ years preferred)
Innate curiosity and a desire to be responsible for all aspects of reliably moving billions of dollars in a small, highly focused team
Understanding and curiosity in creating highly available, scalable, low-latency distributed systems
Interest in changing the payments landscape in the US and globally
