Job Description

As a Product Designer, you will help guide others in every aspect of the design process, from brainstorming and building briefs for the next great product innovation to establishing design standards across the organization. You will be expected to utilize your full range of product design, interaction design, and visual design skills, all while mentoring others and owning the experience for a wide area of the Weebly product.

Qualifications

You will:

  • Maintain a strong rapport with your team and cross-functional partners

  • Take projects from early concepts through implementation and iteration

  • Lead the ideation process and present broad directions to the team and team leads

  • Prototype user flows, interactions and animations

  • Participate and run user tests and synthesize data   test and validate your design choices and present your rational

  • Create visually beautiful interfaces that adhere to visual guidelines

  • Design and document visual systems and others to adopt standards

  • Work closely with engineers and PMs to breathe life into what you design

  • Push the visual style of Weebly forward and help maintain its consistency by contributing to our design system

  • Lead, solicit, and distill design feedback and critique on a team and individual bases

  • Ultimately responsible for upholding the product experience within area

  • Help others to understand your creative process and clearly and effectively communicate the logic behind your ideas

  • Initiate and ship work that has a big impact

You have:
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years design experience

  • Experience in designing content creation tools

  • Proven ability to work independently with only general instruction and little day-to-day direction

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

  • Be able to use multiple methodologies to solve different problems, from analysis of data to developing customer insights

  • Ability to work directly with designers, product managers, and engineers

  • A strong, diverse portfolio of product design work with examples of projects youve lead

  • Experience designing for web and mobile (iOS and Android)

  • Understand the technical limitations and implications of your decisions and have enough chops to communicate your designs to engineers

  • Embrace and iterate on our design process and ways to improve it

  • Welcome design critique with open arms

  • Ability to sketch or draw to communicate complex visual ideas quickly

  • Ability to give constructive feedback to other designers

  • Solid communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams

  • You thrive in an iterative environment with short feedback loops

  • Data and metrics driven

  • Take extreme complexity and distill it down to a simple and elegant product

  • A world-class craftspersonthe need to build and create lies deep in your DNA
