Job Description

Square is looking for a Business Development and Growth Executive (Account Executive) with sound business insight and natural sales instincts to join our growing sales team in Melbourne. You will help drive Square’s growth by prospecting strategic level accounts and articulate the value of Square for businesses of all types. This position requires a self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude to source and onboard new prospects for Square and its product suite.

You will:

  • Prospect strategic level accounts for Square, pushing the envelope of our capabilities in innovative ways

  • Master the Square Platform product capabilities and value to drive client conversations

  • Respond to inbound enquiries across a range of account sizes as well as proactively reach out to additional suitable businesses

  • Build our business through creative outreach methods and customized messaging

  • Implement creative ways to improve our customer relationships, tailor and share performance-enhancing suggestions

  • Act as an outward-facing ambassador of Square’s beliefs, brand and products

  • Communicate constantly with prospects via phone & email

  • Thrive in operating in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment that is prone to changes

Qualifications

You have:

  • 3+ years in a qualifying or prospecting role required

  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Shown ability to multi-task and run multiple projects while paying strict attention to detail

  • An assertive, resilient and persuasive personality

  • An analytical, structured thought process with the ability to assess business opportunities and read prospective buyers

  • Genuine curiosity about people and business, and possess the innate ability to inspire passion in others

  • Coachability, interest in implementing feedback, and dedication to the consistent improvement of your craft

  • The ability to adapt to new situations quickly and think on your feet
