Technical Reporting Analyst, Reconciliation

Job Description

As a technical reporting analyst on the Reconciliation team, you will be responsible for working with business users and engineering to design, build, and test reconciliation pipelines, build reporting dashboards with Looker that support Accounting, Treasury and product teams, and develop data pipelines to support easy detection and alerting of anomalies.

You will:

  • Partner with business users to understand their needs and come up with an end-to-end solution.

  • Translate business requirements to actionable data tasks.

  • Design and develop scalable ETL pipelines.

  • Become a subject matter expert on Square’s reporting platforms for development and visualization.

  • Be responsible for maintaining security and data access models within Square’s reporting platforms.

  • Design, develop, and test reconciliation pipelines that drive Square’s financials.

Qualifications

You have:

  • 2+ years experience in building reporting infrastructure and dashboards.

  • Strong business intuition and ability to understand complex business systems.

  • Substantial attention to detail and a tenacious dedication to quality.

  • Proven ability to work with business users and iterate upon existing reporting.

  • Strong technical accomplishments in SQL and data analysis skills.

  • Expertise in visualization technologies, e.g. Tableau, Looker, or other tools.

  • Vertica, Snowflake, Redshift, MySQL or similar data handling experience.

  • Familiarity with structuring and writing ETLs.

Bonus points:

  • Prior Looker experience

  • Prior Airflow experience

  • Experience with financial data, accounting, or auditing

  • Experience with Python or Java

  • Experience with Linux/OSX command line and git
