Job Description

We are looking for a talented leader to build Square’s People Operations team to support Square’s rapid growth. This role will be responsible for leading the People Operations team in the execution of Square's People strategy and providing support to Squares globally.

You will:

Shared Services Model:

  • Develop baseline metrics and key objectives with measurable outcomes

  • Build a long-term roadmap, timeline and key milestones for the evolution of the People Operations team

  • Manage the ticket queue for the entire HR department

Operational Excellence:

  • Run ongoing HR operations, guiding HR coordinators on best practices and getting work done in the best way

  • Create, own and maintain internal documentation of process via internal Wiki, Slack, Google groups and other internal communication tools

  • Manage operations for contingent workforce programs


  • Manage HR control processes

  • Maintain evidence for SOX controls

  • Partner with internal audit, compliance, legal and other relevant stakeholders

Mergers and Acquisitions:

  • Partner closely with HRPBs and Corporate Development teams to complete thorough and proper due diligence

  • Partner with cross-functional HR Teams to support deal through close and post-100 days

  • Establish and execute M&A process docs for repeatable and scalable transition of acquired and transitioned employees

  • Accountable for execution of HR practices, systems and policies to effectively get to successful integration


You have:

  • 5+ years of general HR operations experience

  • 2+ years of people management and mentorship experience

  • Proven ability to diagnose problems with strategic thinking skills, as well as drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative

  • Experience in improving and identifying issues in processes, suggesting user focused improvements, and navigating/influencing cross-functional teams to drive these changes

  • A welcoming and helpful attitude with high level of creativity, flexibility and openness to change
